History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Oskar was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Personality: She is a jovial happy person, but she is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. She loves her children and doesn't want them to worry about her. She loves to share her writing with anyone who is interested.

History: Veloptima lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

History: She was born at the edge of vast island. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Motivation: A deep hatred of giants; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and she desires to right it

Personality: He is highly sensitive about his name. He loathes it, but will not take any guff about it from anyone. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Abad is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious western family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
