History: Bertram hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He has became unsatisfied with his lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

Motivation: Several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 7 years.
