Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Humans in Agnes's homeland. Agnes decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. She left for the west, certain she would find work there.

Emeny was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She would ruin relationships and cause injury. She was reprimanded several times before being given her current form and forced to learn humility.
